Valletta

We visited Valletta's gardens, the Lower - and Upper Barakka at evening. The Lower Barrakka is smaller, has a warmer atmosphere, but from the Upper Barrakka, you can see the ships in the harbour, and you can see till Vittoriosa (Valletta lays on a peninsula).

The cathedral of Valletta does not look overdecorated from the outside, the same architect designed it, who planned the walls of Valletta. But inside, the cathedral looks completely different: it is richly decorated, the knights of Malta wanted to compete with St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. There is one painting by Caravaggio.
