We went to a day trip to Montenegro from Croatia. The Bay of Kotor was the destination, we decided on Perast, when we spotted the church of Our Lady of the rocks, which stands on an islat. The islats were expanded, to give place to a church, a stone was thrown into the water by every sailor, who sailed out of the bay. The road does not go through Perast, but passes by very close. You can not drive into the city, the car should be parked on the side of the road.
The main sight of Perast is the church standing on the small island, where you can go by water taxi, we paid five euros for a return trip for each person.
Now, Perast has only about 300 residents, but the city once had a greater fleet than Ragusa (now: Dubrovnik).
The ship cruise really worth it, as you can have breathtaking views of Perast and surrounding montains
